River Tyne - Newcastle

The Millennium  Bridge over the River Tyne in Gateshead/Newcastle

Overlook for the river and bridge and the Sage auditorium.

We walked from the river front up to Newcastle.

The Sage- fine arts and cultural center above the river and bridge.

The castle keep was founded in 1168... called a "new castle" hence the name of the city.

This is the Great Hall in the Castle Keep.  The castle was one of the best preserved Norman towers surviving in Britain today.
