Victorian Splendour- Broadsworth Hall and Gardens-

Broadsworth Hall is a Victorian Country home created by the Thellusson family in the 1860's (the family made their money from banking.  He built this elegant home and gardens to share with his many guests in the summer.  The family loved horses and yachting - main home on the southern coast.

The cherry blossoms were out.  We sat on this bench for our picnic lunch.

Bluebells were thriving in the gardens.

Unique was a Rock Gtotto with summer house to overlook the house and gardens.
Rose Pergola - an iron framework covered with roses (just starting to bud).
The house overlooks the formal gardens and fountains.
The home was lived in until the 1980's.  We toured the majestic home
with guides in each room explaining how the family lived. There were lots of grand paintings of family members, horse and yacht trophies, and alabaster statues come from Italy.

In the gardens were some beautiful conifer trees trimmed like palm trees.
