Hartlepool Maritime Museum and History

It has been a long time coming, but we finally made it to the Hartlepool marina.
The museum tells the history of Hartlepool back to B.C.3000. This full size fishing coble is an example of the many boats and ships made here.

We boarded the Wingfield Castle, a paddle steamer, built in Hartlepool.

"Captain Shurtz" manning the wheel.

The Trincomalee is Europe's oldest warship afloat.  "Built in India in 1817 it sailed the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans and was stationed at Hartlepool Between 1862 and 1877." We planned to tour it, but it was closed for a wedding. (We saw the longest limo ever with the wedding party."

  1. I love that even as long as you've been there, you are still finding new things to see and do!
