Our Walks by the Beach

We often on a morning go walking along the Seaton Carew promenade.  If it is low tide, we may see the coal lorries (trucks).  Whoever heard of coal washing up from the sea, but that is what happens here.  There use to be active coal mines up the coastline, and the coal that was raked in was in lumps. Now, it is almost dust.

I visted with one of the worker who said he had been doing this for forty years. He got 6 pounds (money) per ton and the lorry holds 2 tons.

We count it a blessing to be serving in a coastal city where we can visit the beach and watch the sun rise on our early morning walks.
