Beautiful Yarm -on-Tees

Our neighbor said he was sent as a child to Yarm during the war to get him away from the city bombings. What a lovely, quaint town.  This railroad bridge was built in the 1850's. It is one half mile long, 43 arches, 7 million bricks, and so beautiful.

Yarn  has a typical town center with parking and shopping.  It was bustling the Saturday morning we went.

At a pie shop we were introduced to Chicken Bakes and ate them down by the river. They are lovely.  The bridge in the background was built in the1450's and still in use.
