York with Walls of Daffodils

The Minster is always a highlight of York. It has the best collection of medival stained glass windows in England. During one of the rennovations, they discovered it was built over a Roman ruin dating AD 47.  Constantine was visiting there when word came of his father's death. He was crowned emperor of Rome at the site.

After the tour, David and Debbie were interviewed by BBC on their thoughts about York.

We found a pie shop and had steak bakes and hot cross buns... one a penny, two a penny hot cross buns-- now they sell for four for a pound.  Debbie and Dad were looking for the Jorvik Center on the map.

Clifford Tower was the first castle in York. The daffodils were incredible.

As we walked the wall around York, we were thrilled by the massive display of daffodils.

What a wonderful day!
